3 Tips for Mobile Email Marketing

Share:

mobile friendly email

Mobile email marketing is essential, because our digital consumption habits are changing. With the growing popularity of smartphones and tablets, more and more consumers are using mobile devices to access email. But few feel that reading email on a mobile device is as easy as reading it on a computer. That's why it is important to make it easy for mobile users to interact with your messages. Here are five things you should consider when creating mobile email marketing messages:

1. Keep your subject line short: Mobile devices have smaller screens than computers, so you should write shorter subject lines to ensure that all the text shows on a mobile device screen. If you can't convey your message in the width of a mobile browser, be sure to put the most compelling words first, so your subscribers will understand why they should open your message.

2. Limit scrolling: Your mobile subscribers don't want to scroll through several screens of text to read your message or find a link. Keep your messages brief and, as with subject lines, put your most important content and links toward the beginning. This will increase your click-through rates, as your subscribers will easily find your calls to action.

3. Check your design: Check all of your emails on mobile browsers to be sure that they display correctly. Subscribers should be able to read your text without zooming, and your images should display clearly. Plus, your links must be easy to click with a finger. You don't want a subscriber to try to click a link and hit something else instead.

In addition to these basic design and content strategies, you can also experiment with coupons in your emails. Studies have shown that more consumers are using their smartphones to download coupons and make online purchases. You can increase your sales by including scannable coupons or QR codes in your emails.
